So we come to the terrible conclusion of the terrible Lou McNally two-parter. I'm really glad there are no other books that focus on her because the BSC simply does not know how to begin to empathize with a kid who's been through what she has.

Mystery #14 Stacey and the Mystery at the Mall
I kind of loved this one when I was a kid, and I’m not sure why. The plot contrivance is ludicrous, even by BSC standards, and the ending is both disturbing and a bit offensive. On the other hand, I think I really just enjoyed the settings and descriptions of mysteries 10-15, with the exception of Dawn and the Dull Surfer Ghost. A library! A ( Read more... ) -

Hello, folks! I hope everybody (in America) had a good Thanksgiving. This book is called Stacey's Lie, but perhaps it ought to have been called Stacey is a Spoiled Brat and Her Parents Aren't Nice Either, Nor Are Her Friends.
